The storm crow book

This is a dark topic and the nature of YA novels is typically to shy away from it. Ericen sort of reminded me of Zell from Royal Bastards and I liked that. I knew this trope would be here and it was very well done. Again, a feature that I was super excited to see. I was pleasantly surprised, because this, like enemies to lovers, is a trope I really like. I saw it in story on Instagram yesterday while she was recommending books. I actually didn’t know that this trope would be featured when I originally purchased this book. I am on the blog tour for the sequel and my stop is tomorrow 😱 – I am officially the Queen of Procrastinating. So, why am I reading it today? It’s not because I’m reading backlogged books (like I should be). Honestly, I was excited about reading it but since I didn’t have an ARC or commitment obligating me to read it, I think I absentmindedly bumped it lower on my TBR. I pre-ordered a copy of this book last June and received it July. And after stumbling upon a hidden Crow egg in the rubble of a rookery, she and her sister devise a dangerous plan to hatch the egg in secret and get back what was taken from them. Her sister Caliza is busy running the kingdom after their mother’s death, but all Thia can do is think of all she has lost.īut when Caliza is forced to agree to a marriage between Thia and the crown prince of Illucia, Thia is finally spurred into action. That terrible night has thrown Princess Anthia into a deep depression. In the tropical kingdom of Rhodaire, magical, elemental Crows are part of every aspect of life…until the Illucian empire invades, destroying everything.
